My Story
I've had computers in my life as long as I can remember. My dad was a systems analyst at General Electric in the 60's, 70's and 80's. He was a pretty smart fellow. He was also a double E (electrical engineer) and had worked for NASA. He could read binary code and foretran like novels. He brought home stacks of printouts of continuous feed paper and read them all night. In the morning, he would type into punch cards and feed the servers (big reel to reel things).
We had a computer in the house before anyone else we knew. That's how we talked to Dad when he was working late. Before email, we could use the modem and dial in. That sounds pretty normal, but this cradle held the phone itself and the phone was ON A CORD! That idea makes my kids laugh at how old I am.
I love creating. I cannot stop it. If there is a blank surface in my home, I fill it with color and whimsy. I make pottery, paint murals, portraits, and anything else that sits still too long. I love the process of dipping brushes in paint and making a blank canvas come to life.

Likewise, I have an affinity for data. It may be a strange combination, but data is what I am really good at. I can look at a data set and immediately start putting together, how I can combine it with other data sets and create something incredibly useful. I don't know that one would call these monster spreadsheets... art, but they are incredibly useful in spotting trends in selling and purchasing.

While I have always pursued a career in graphic arts, I somehow always end up in data manipulation.
